Appointment in principle issued at the 4/6/2026 ex parte hearing (2026-04-06 - Hearing - Ex Parte). Formal appointment 4/22/2026; first outreach email from Charley on 4/23/2026 acknowledging the appointment and offering to send a documentary packet. Judge prepared a written order authorizing Sara Davison to begin work immediately rather than waiting for a Findings and Order After Hearing to be drafted and signed (see 2026-04-23 - Hearing - Status Conference).

Scope

Independent investigator on behalf of both children. Will review documentary record, interview children, and likely interview parents and providers. Reports to the court at the 5/11/2026 Minor’s Counsel hearing (2026-05-11 - Hearing - Minor’s Counsel) and may continue through the 6/1/2026 RFO (2026-06-01 - Hearing - RFO).
